Recently I made a cardboard box bed for Zubee and it become his favorite place so far. He didn't spend time with his momcat when he was small which was very cold November in Shigaraki, so it must be the warmest memory for Zubee in the cardboard box still now.

Since the weather got better, cats are always sitting in front of the window and watching birds, cars and people through the window. When I came back to home, they were watching me. I thougnt it's cute.

Zubee has been having Diarrhea for a week, so that we took him to the vet in Cathage. He doesn't like to get on the car (hate driving) as well as vet because he went to many veterinary hospitals since he was kitten.

Doctor gave him a diarrheal medicine, antibiotic for his runny nose & eyes, and also anual rabies shot. It was big day for him and hope to get better.

An American Cat

When Zubee moved to new house in the last September, he was very very depressed. He had less apetite, and just watching outside from the window with crying. The new house was too big and empty. No friends. He was alone all the time.

Oneday, his mother (me) brought small black furry female kitten home. His mother wanted him to be Genki (cheer-up) and thought he would be happy if he could have a friend.

She was named "Sabee-chan" ( it named probably from Wabi-Sabi) and very active small kitten. He tried to be her BOSS, and beat her up for a while, but unfortunately she was not care.

Because she would rather being a good friend than competitor. She chased Zubee like apprentice and went to anywhere he did. Finally Zubee gave up to care about her, and they were more settle down.

Eventually, it's bad news for Zubee, but she became bigger and stronger than Zubee now.
Even thogh, they are good friends and like each other.

There is the story of Zubee.

He was probably born in Sep 2004 around our house in Shigaraki. He must have had happy life with his family.

Suddenly his mom left him alone and disappeared in some reason. He was too small to survive by himself, so he was getting skinny & unhealthy day by day.

One day, I found him at parking lot and he was sitting in the sun without any movement. I got closer to him and could almost pet him, but he was afraid of me even though he had no energy. I stopped and left him. I was sad to see such a miserable kitten.

After a week,　I never forget the date, November 8th and the first frost of the season, I was going to work in the morning, and I found him again at the parking lot. He was freezing, looked like gave up his life, very dirty and stinky. He was almost dying.

I couldn’t help taking him up in my arm and ran into our house. I put him in the card box with bath towel and electric heater, and asked Takuro to look after him, then I went to work.

Since then, we had taken care of him. We named him Zubee which means the sound of sniffing. He couldn’t eat much first, but got eat better little by little. I knew he was trying to live. I have never ever seen such a skinny and miserable cat through my life.

We went to several veterinarians to cure his disease but it was not easy than we thought. He had to eat bugs or anything he could, so he have had several infectious diseases. Doctors said we could try best, but no idea if it worked or not.

The worse was we decided to move to USA at that time, and we had no idea how we could take care of him after moving. We talked about it long long time, and also looked for people who were able to adopt him.

His health was getting better slightly. He was lovely cat. I couldn’t imagine I gave up him. So, I started to look for a way how to bring him to USA.

It was hard to accomplish many processes of quarantine, but we made it. Now he has American life in NC and enjoys himself.

He says, "Life is not so bad, so far".
